Sunset Practice...

I went out the other night to take pictures of the sunset.  I had been watching the clouds throughout the afternoon and had a feeling that it would be gorgeous.

At then end of my 30 minutes of taking various shots, exposures, angles, and trying to include some foreground in the photos, I left feeling rather deflated.  I wasn't happy with the shots at all.

When I got home and loaded them into the computer, I felt a little better.  Not a lot, but a little.  At least there were some interesting colors in there.  They weren't as bad as I had thought at first, but they weren't the spectacular images I had been hoping for.

So tell me - is it just me?  Am I being too much of a perfectionist?  Am I just expecting too much?  Or does there really seem to be something wrong with them?  Is there something I'm not aware of?  What am I missing?

I'm slightly frustrated, but don't worry - I'm NOT going to quit!!  I WILL, however, go to the library and check out more books on landscape photography!  I will also scour the internet for more information!  Look out world!  *shaking fist at the sky like Scarlet O'Hara*  As God is my witness, I WILL learn to take great landscape photos!!!

(PS - all photos are untouched.  Is that the problem?  Is everything out there SO Photoshop'ed that I can't get a grip on reality?  Maybe it's because pictures of sunsets are so prevalent that none of them will ever seem to be something special or extraordinary...  Please advise..... and send more Diet Dr. Pepper - STAT!)

Happy Friday!  I hope you all enjoy your weekend immensely!

Much Love,

Tiffany
