Portraits in the Sunflowers

Here are a couple of shots of my youngest and oldest in the Sunflowers.

Something I want to remember for this time next year:

* Take a bench or chair or something to stand on!!  The Sunflowers are taller than I am and WAY taller than the kids.  If I want them to look like they are standing amidst the field of flowers, they need to be elevated.

*  Get them excited about pictures in the flowers before we go.....

*  Spend the night at grandma's (half an hour closer to the field) so they aren't worn out by the car ride before we get there.  They were pretty disagreeable by the time we were shooting.

**  Also - practice with this child and her glasses so we know how to NOT get glare.  Maybe adjust the time of day a bit....

*  I think I'll also let her use the lighter colored violin.  This one blended in too much when I tried to alter the photo to sepia tones...

I used a couple of Pioneer Woman's Photoshop Actions on this one.  I think I like it.  Especially since it's not the bold, warmer type of photo that I usually take....  If the picture doesn't want to be what I want it to be, maybe I need to let it be what it was meant to be....

I think I'm getting to philisophical....  :)

I can't tell you all how AMAZING it is that this kid let me take his picture!!  Success right there - to heck with whether or not I like the shot!  (I don't dis-like it!)

Much Love,

Tiffany

They are all very nice!

Can you incorporate PWs Actions into Elements?

YES! PW has a link to follow where someone has taken all her actions and created them for Elements. The instructions were fairly easy to follow.

These sunflowers are amazing. Did you grow them?

Hi Ann, no I didn't grow the sunflowers. I went to a farmer's field a few miles from here to take the pictures. I wrote a few other posts about them that are now archived. You can read about them if you wish at these links
