Portrait Practice

So while we were at the Rose Garden, I had my daughter pose at a stone bridge.

It is a perfect place for portraits, but I still learned something.  There's more to taking good portraits than just taking good pictures.  This child is occasionally awkward and poses too much when the camera comes out.  She actually enjoys having her picture taken, but she has trouble "being natural."

A goal I need to have for myself is to figure out how to get my subjects to relax and just be themselves for their pictures.  This isn't about taking pictures necessarily, it's about having people skills.

I don't know if I'll get to the Friday Shoot Out this week, but if I do, I'll post it later this evening.  Have a great Friday everyone!

Much Love,

Tiffany
